This February we were graced with ultimate quintessential perfection, as the Mulberry A/W12 collection took LFW by storm! Claridge’s, Mayfair, London played host to the collection inspired by 1963 childrens book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

Balenciaga Fall 2012 PFW

Balenciaga transported us back to the eighties and the days of serious power dressing with its fall collection at Paris Fashion Week 2012. Creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere referenced the early 1980s and the post punk Buffalo Girls who famously layered clothing and blended 50’s retro elements with androgynous boyfriend jackets and power coats, and made it into something modern and edgy.

A futuristic land filled with life size sparkling crystals and beautiful fantasy women would be a fitting description for the Chanel Fall show at Paris Fashion Week 2012.

Dries Van Noten AW12

The Dries Van Noten show was a veritable optical illusion. Intricate prints were built upon clean blocks of black and white. The pale models all with their hair pulled back and flashes of bright orange eyeshadow have the dresses in silks draped over their long frames.

Gareth Pugh’s autumn/winter collection toys with different texture hugely. Models made their way down a grey, deserted forest like catwalk as autumnal leaves began to fell wearing statement pieces in furs, shaggy wools, leathers and feathers.

The dark ruby lips, the wet slick backed hair and vampire inspired looks really had us going this season. The YSL a/w12 collection was a collection made for modern day black & white films. These sensual looks introduced a very dark and mysterious side to YSL.

Nicola Formichetti and Sébastien Peigné make their mark on Mugler and Paris Fashion Week. We were introduced to an array of futuristic-chic clothing, predominately black and white with the odd occasional appearance of yellow and red.

It has been said that Lanvin women “Dont do trousers, she’s all about the dress” Elbaz, the head designer for Lanvin has created a delectable smorgasbord of dress for you to pick and choose from.

For autumn/winter Kenzo has presented a very playful line, a dress up box with a variety of looks. The models descended on escalators between 5 floors showcasing the collection, the levels create a sense of intrigue for the audience.

Christian Dior’s 2012 fall collection presented a concoction of fairytale-esque designs with a dose of billowing princess gowns, a dash of ballerina and just a hint of the wicked witch with some tough leather.
